SY/T 5037-2023 Submerged arc-welded steel pipe for common fluid service pipeline
1 Scope
This document specifies the dimensions, shape, mass, technical requirements, inspection and testing methods, inspection rules, coating, marking and quality certificate of submerged arc-welded steel pipes (including longitudinal submerged arc-welded steel pipes and spiral submerged arc-welded steel pipes, hereinafter referred to as "steel pipes") for common fluid service pipelines.
This document is applicable to steel pipes for conveying common fluids such as water, air, and heating steam, and also to steel pipes for conveying other fluids with similar requirements.
This document is also applicable to steel pipes with socket/spigot joints for water conveyance projects (such as long-distance water diversion, municipal water supply and drainage, and agricultural irrigation pipeline projects).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 13295 and the following apply.
3.1
spigot gasket flexible joint for steel pipe
sealed pipeline connection joint capable of accommodating a certain range of water pressure and displacement, formed by inserting a rubber sealing ring into the socket or spigot of the steel pipe, then applying force to insert the pipe end
3.2
integrated forming socket/spigot joint
pipeline connection joint where the socket/plug is directly formed at the pipe end of the steel pipe by expanding forming or roll forming processes
3.3
welding forming socket/spigot joint
pipeline connection joint formed by welding the socket or spigot to the steel pipe end using lap welding technology
4 Symbols
For the purposes of this document, the following symbols apply.
